I thought that, at least when it came to racing, Ferrari were loathe to adopt new technology. I think Wouter said something like this ages ago.

The Old Man also resisted a mid-engined Ferrari as he thought that his customers could not drive it competently. I would potentially hesitate to call Ferrari being at the forefront of new racing technology, but I do not know enough to be entirely sure.

Enzo was also very reluctant to switch from drum to disc brakes. He seemed to prefer very well-proven technology to bleeding-edge tech.

Ill have whatever is left. I would love either/any of them. But if the choice was mine either the Murcielago and Gallardo are among my favorite supercars.

Even given that, I still have trouble believing he'd have a problem if he saw where his company is today. Like I said before, they have no choice but to keep getting more sophisticated. Not when you have cars like the GT-R dancing around the Ring like its a walk in the park. Sure you can go lightweight with just a steering wheel and a gearbox like Lotus except with more power, but then you wouldn't really be catering to what Ferrari customers want, which is sophistication and a nice interior. Unfortunately our beloved ball on a stick is dead and gone.

I agree. Enzo's ferrari's didn't burst into flames because of wiring and carb trouble....

The Ferrari 458 rival is the McLaren MP4-12C.
