Mercedes Benz S65 AMG. Not the current S Class shape, but the previous.

Gadgets & Grunt. Lots of it.

    As Motor Mag says:

Any generation black BMW M5, Mercedes-Benz E55, or the soon to be released Pontiac G8 (Australian Holden something.)
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

My vote would go for the 1969 Dodge Dart GTS 440. Pretty sneaky of Dodge to put a 440 in it when most had the 340s.
Here is a test of one:

Ordinary shoebox called Lancia Thema 8.32. The best thing about it - practically no one has ever heard of it.

I agree with nota. And as an addition, any turbo Subaru Liberty. And perhaps the Lancer GSR.

Currently the new Mercedes C-Class, fitted with the AMG 6.3 litre V8...(I don't know whether it comes as a break, that would score even higher...)

I think a strong argument can be made for the E39 M5 and RS6 - either gen. I'm surprised no one mentioned it.

The official Lotus performance figures were 105bhp at 5500rpm, with maimum torque of 108lb ft at 4000rpm. It's generally held that these figures are a bit hopeful (90bhp is quoted for the same engine in the Lotus Elan), but nevertheless, the Lotus-Cortina was and is renowned for its poke. The figures don't sound too shabby even now - top speed of 105mph, 0-60mph in just under 10 seconds

    ....watch out Mopeds.

I honestly don't think a car that normally has a big V8 but secretly has a bigger V8 counts as a Q-car. But that's just me...

although I love the Lotus, for me it is not a Q-car, as it was far too recognisable from the standard Cortina. The green stripe gave it very much away, and in standard form it could not do much against the contemporary Giulia TI Super or even the BMW 1800 TI.

Hmmm .. mate I have a sneaking suspicion that those factory Super Roo stripes which extend from front to rear, coupled with the extensive paint blackouts, not forgetting the defining GT-HO front spoiler and rear wing (plus the then-fancy 'Daytona' alloy wheels) and to cap it all off that distinctive Shaker scoop protruding out of the bonnet, would somehow ... give the game away!

But nevertheless in the quest for your version of ultimate Q-car covertness, which of these OE colours would you prefer your GT-HO in ..

Why not Wild Violet (metallic purple) wherein the stripes were discretely rendered in reflective Day-Glow.
Barely visible in fog (pic 3) is the quiet shade of Shell Yellow.
For ultimate stealth (and this one is a real beauty) let's go all out with Aviation Surface Orange. :luvit:
Paint code Y015, Aviation Surface Orange, according to Ford records.

What is Aviation Surface Orange ? Quite simply, it is the orange paint used to paint, in a chequerboard pattern with white, any structure that is over 200ft in height in the vicinity of an airport, defined by the FAA’s regulations for painting such a structure.

Why anyone would want to paint a car this colour, never mind a performance car, is beyond us ?
Personally, in past or present I reckon I could spot an original GT-HO (not to mention hear it) a good country mile away
