    Caparo T1

what do you think of the Caparo T1, i like the car but i would not buy one if i had the money. it cost £301,975 i think this is a bit expencive for a car which is not the very reliable.
    here are some stats

    Engine
    Aluminium V8 3499cc
    575bhp @ 10,500 rpm
    1000bhp per tonne
    Maximum Speed:200mph (Low downforce setup)
    0-100mph: 5 seconds
0-60mph: 2.5 seconds (depending on tyre setup)

so what do you think of the Caparo T1

If I wanted a road legal race car then I'd buy a road legal race car.

    (And save myself about £285,000).

Well, The Caparo is notorious for having REALLY BAD RELIABILITY. No joke, it nearly killed clarkson, and the dude from Auto Car. And the dude at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. No thanks. I'd rather Have the Atom 500

If we are honest, their aren't many good looking track day specials. Except perhaps the Spartan GT. I rather like the looks of that one. Its ass is as good looking as Angelina Jolie's.

In the same way that Samuel L Jackson almost got killed by a CGI animated snake in 'Snakes on a Plane'?

What happened was the skid plate fell off. In a car like the Caparo, extremely lightweight and fairly powerful, to have something like that mess up the aerodynamics, he could have taken a flight like Mark Webber. Hes lucky he wasn't going very fast.

Last time I checked Mark Webber took a flight because he crashed into the back of another car.

The belly pan is to reduce turbulence underneath the car. All that will happen if it falls off is create more drag (like coming out of a cars slipstream would). At the very most it would create a bit more pressure underneath the car, but not enough to have enough effect to flip it unless you happened to hit a hump at the same time (ala CLR @ '99 Lemans).

It caught on fire and burnt Jason Plato. Clarkson got off lightly.

    "Baked Potato" XD

It's as close to an F1 car as you can get, until that Lotus 125 track car came out. For the experience, a lot of car enthusiasts would love to own one, or at least try one... if they have the money.

The only way to get enough downforce to go around corners in this car is to be speeding outrageously, because at road speeds the air isn't moving over it quickly enough. I don't know how it's road-legal, I just don't want to be coming the other way when it's skidding wildly out of control down the road.

All cars at road speeds don't have air moving quickly enough over them. That's because the air has the same speed of the car in the opposite direction.

What this car may lacks is weight, to an extent. Softer tires would just make the job, given you're not interested in them lasting 50.000 km, or 5.000 for that matters.

Also, of all cars skidding wildly out of control against me, I think this would rank in the top 5. It's light, so way less kinetic energy to sustain on the impact, and it's very low, so it wouldn't likely engage the impact zones on any other regular cars, basically sustaining most of the combined energy.

As for being road-legal, it's not that different from an Atom V8 or a Caterham Levante, or even a Radical SR8.
