Oh, I figured there were more. You could post them in the Rally Acropolis Thread.

Might sound like a stupid question, but where's the intercooler for the new model? Theres no bonnet scoop.

They are running a FMIC (Front mounted intercooler) this year.

They've finally realised that heating the intercooler up with the hot engine is a bad idea... although from a reliability point of view, that IC will be very prone to damage at the front.

Agreed. The old one, at water splashes anyway, was like a big jug and just drowned everything in the engine bay (Theres some clips on YouTube of this, I cant remember the exact rally). By using the FMIC, larger surface area so better cooling, and (hopefully) not as much water will pass through.

That looks inconclusive. Theres no core for one, leading me to believe its just part of the intake. Theres also those 2 massive tubes leading to and from the front of the car.

I think the older bug eye wrc model had a front mount intercooler. The piping goes to the front on this so i assume its the same.

it's def a front mount, the piping matches up. you can see the top of it whereas the front is covered
cool how the intake is where the top mount used to be.

Ive seen Patrol's with that sort of setup with a top mount, where the air entered from the front of the bonnet but surely such a setup would be too restrictive for WRC. The intercooler for the Patrol mightve only had the same surface area as an A4 sheet of paper.
