    Drag Countach

Anyone else ever see this? Nevermind the crash, the car itself is a wild idea

I don't like drag racing. And i'm sad to see such a beautiful car destroyed that way! (with the modification, not the crash)

I'd be surprised if that was ever an actual Countach...

    Well. Sadly:
Well, one car that happens to be a hodgepodge of a classic, exotic and dragster is a highly modified Lamborghini Countach sporting a front engine and a blower big enough to swallow little children whole.

Depends on your definition of highly modified.. could be that that they started with a pair of Countach headlights and created the rest from scratch...

I agree- I'm not sure why the engine is in the front either.

It may not even be a Lamborghini engine.

That is pretty clearly a typical funnycar with a plastic Countach bodykit. Nothing from Lamborghini exists on it.

It's even possible it's this one: Lamborghini Countach Drag Car, Dragster, Like No Other! - Ultimatecarpage.com forums

    Clearly not the same.
And to me, it looks like it's an original Countach front.

It isn't. Like csl said it's a fiberglass body with an American/Australian V8.

Even if it was an original (which, as several point out is unlikely), they could have found an already totaled Countach and re-built it as a front-engined dragster. It would be highly expensive and not really worth the time (IMO), to re-build a perfectly good, existing Countach as a dragster.

I agree, these types of dragsters are always pourpose built and use no original parts from the car they represent. Frame, suspension, tranny and engine have nothing to do with the ¨original¨ car. Even the body is made from a fiberglass mold made to fit the frame.

So don´t worry, a real lambo wasn´t ruined to make that dragster. I do have to say, that has got to be the biggest supercharger I´ve ever seen!!! No wonder the driver crashed, he can´t see where he´s going!!! LOL
