    "feels too wide"

and besides getting upset over the word "is" is a little extreme , no ?

let it go Slicks, it's not worth it.

the SRT-10 still feels a size or three too big for British roads

Did I miss something here? Or does that first extract completely contradict what you're trying to tell us?

    Yes you are

It's too stiff to exploit, too wide to thread with confidence and those 345-section rear tyres give it a mind of its own.

But there's two different statements. On supports your argument, the other does not.

You unsurprisingly choose to quote the one that supports your point. I've got a horrible deja vu feeling about where this is going, so I'll leave it at that.

The problem is, Slicks, that you have taken the phrase out of context.

    It isn't "too wide".

It is "too wide to thread with confidence".

That isn't a statement of fact, unless you secretly developed a scientifically sound scale of "confidence". Whose confidence are we talking about here?

And the following comment about the car having a mind of its own may impact upon the reporter's confidence.

Maybe because the Aston Martin doesn't encourage you to visit the scenery, therefore you can be more confident, therefore you don't worry about the width, and the possibility of skipping over a rut and across the middle of the road into someone's Golf GTI...
    Thanks for all the fish

What i was saying was it was strange that they commented that the Viper was "too wide to thread with confidence" yet the wider Aston Marton was not.

    That is a possibility.

and has the point about driving position in the car and the analogy with threading the needle helped you understand better ?

"evo" after they accidentally left caps lock on whilst typing up one of the first issues and used up all their capital letters.

I've found british...and European moto-journalism in general tends to have a very negative view of North American vehicles....little do they know that the Vanquish is an American vehicle.
