    PC help (emergency!)

ok guys i turned my pc on when i got in earlier, and it turns on fine exept the monitor doesnt recieve signal, neither does anything else so my pc just sits there. Now a friend told me that it is the graphics card failing to initialize so therefore without the graphics card functioning the motherboard cannot continue booting up so nothing else works, its supposed to be a common issue which you just wait to go away (unplug it and leave it for a while) so i did and nothing changed, and i hate not having my pc! Now any pc wizzes out there, my knowledge has been exceeded, does anyone know what to do?

but if your not fooling around-you could just manually turn of all computer related apliances, or if your like me your computer apliances are connected to a swith in your wall, newer computers turn themselves off after being given the command, flik the swithch for the other things

Only thing i can think of doing is taking removing the side off your computer then remove and re-insert the graphics card. My computer has 2 graphics cards so i dont have this problem so Im really not experienced in this field.

Open the case and check for dust on the connections.

Is the machine stating and failing to display, or is it just not starting up?

the machine turns on, the neons lights are on and the fans are spinning, but it doesnt send out any signals to any appliances so i see nothing on the monitor. when it starts up i hear a *click* sound
