    Audi LeMans Quattro greenlighted.

    Yesssssssssssssssss... </Napolean Dynamite>

Audi bosses have given the green light to the spectacular Audi Le Mans quattro supercar, Autocar can reveal. A recent prototype of the car has been driven by Audi chairman Dr Martin Winterkorn and VW boss Bernd Pischetsrieder in the past two weeks, and both have agreed that the car should be committed to production. The Le Mans Quattro is expected to arrive in final production form in late 2006, with deliveries to customers likely in the first half of 2007.

I love the styling on the car, it's very sleek and modern looking. Didn't this concept have alot to do with the veyron, because I think Audi and Volkswagen own Bugatti.

Yep, only 444hp 610 used to sound a lot better.

Well the prototype weights 3373.1 lbs... I hope the production version weights less than that.

    1. its not like you guys are getting it...
I was going to get it, but 444hp just doesn't make it for me

It's definitely a good looking car although it's taken a while to develop. Sounds like a good car.

The article says they're aiming for Porsche and Ferrari. And their expected price puts it in range with the 911. So 450hp will be more than enough to keep it in line with its competitors. Personally, I think the RS4's V8 with a bi-turbo setup would be more than enough. Something in the 475hp range, with gobs of torque in the low end.

And that would leave the aftermarket with an awesome base for big turbo setups.

As well as Lamborghini. Which is what they're being careful not to intrude on the sales of.
