First Year at Monaco

I need to know what was the first year F1 raced at Monaco. This is for my Graphic Design class for my stamp design. I need to know this so that I can get one of the cars from the race. Help is greatly appreciated.

In terms of racing under the banner of Formula 1 the first race was in 1950, the very first year F1 existed. Juan Fangio won it in an Alfa Romeo.

As for Grand Prix racing at Monaco prior to 'Formula 1' days then I'm not so sure.
