thats a C5-R road car made by Chevrolet (or whoever they contracted to make the race cars) ...to my knowledge it is the only one made
..the only things i noticed on this car that made it different from the race version were
-no wing
-street tires (GoodYear Supercar)

to tell you the truth id rather it not be changed from the z06 looks, it would create a sleeper type feel to it. Even though the z06 itself isnt a sleeper, it may fool people into thinking its just another regular z06

I must admit, Chevrolet have really picked up their game with the new Corvette. Being in the UK, Corvette always seemed an alsoran to the legendary Viper. But this looks very awesome, cant wait!

Well, since it's been around since 1953, it's the Corvette that's considered legendary in the US. The Viper is seen by many and the re-encarnation of another legendary car...the Shelby Cobra

I kinda think Chevrolet would have made some money on this if it was made, then again, they'd probably lose more.

Maybe this is why the folks at General Motors can slyly smile and plausibly deny a super-powered Corvette Blue Devil is in the works. We hear Blue Devil (allegedly chosen to get the attention of GM CEO and Duke grad Rick Wagoner) is no longer the working name of the car but has been replaced by the more Corvette-centric Sting Ray moniker. Production of the $100,000 Blue, er, Sting Ray, with a supercharged 7.0-liter 600-hp V8 under its carbon fiber hood, could come as early as 2007.

I was hoping they will call it the Stingray!

Nope Dale Junior has one in his collection that chevy gave him so theres more then one.
