I like names of cars, it creates much more of an emotional impact than cold numbers.
Although having something like V8 in the name is excellent.

Definitely. Names like Corvette, Mustang, Cobra, Countach, and Viper bring about a feeling just saying them. Something that SL65, 330i, and even M3 and 911 just don't give you. C'mon, "nine eleven" doesn't even sound as cool as Monte Carlo...Originally Posted by IBrake4Rainbows

Now doesn't that sound much more emotive and purposeful?

I like numbers-as-names, like Bentley Speed Six, Westfield SEiGHT, etc, as they describe the car. But anything will do, if it's not made up.
British car names are almost always cool (BL and Vauxhall excepted). Speed Six, Phantom, Silver Shadow, Continental, Superlight are all great examples.
