A high profile Concours d'Elegance is usually organized in an exclusive resort, but past events in Paris and London have proven that a metropolid is an equally suitable location. This was confirmed over the weekend when thousands of car enthusiasts gathered in New York's Central Park to attend the city's inaugural Concours d'Elegance. Contrasting the massive city around it, the event was very low key with no more than 50 cars on display at once in the Wollman Rink. The carefully selected line-up consisted of a number former show winning vehicles, including the frequently awarded Horch 853A Sport Erdmann & Rossi Cabriolet and Ferrari 375 America Pinin Farina Coupe Speciale. These striking one-off exotics were joined by American Muscle and various racers. One of the true highlights was a recently discovered Tipo 60 Birdcage Maserati; a true time-warp example.
Equipped with his camera and tuxedo Rob Clements took off to the Big Apple to capture the event for us in full colour. He has turned his three days of snapping and yapping in a full report and 160 shot-slideshow.

If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.
