yes, and handling was considered to be lethal, only very few of them were built.Originally Posted by dydzi

Thx Forza and the specs for this car are very impressive.
Sorry to bring back an incredible ANCIENT thread, but very little info on why this car was made has been put here, so I thought I'd elaborate.
The Monteverdi was a very well made car, made specifically by a man named Monteverdi, to pracitically kill even the most powerful of Ferrari's. To by a Monteverdi, you had to be more then just rich, you had to have your C Class Racing License, and you must sign a guarenteee stating that a chauffeur will drive you around in it, because it is quite a car to behold, and as the owner, you must be seen in it, not driving it. It wouldn't have mattered if you had put 1 million dollars down on Monte's table, as one man did, he still wouldn't let you have it under these terms. For the Sultan Of Brunei, who bought one of these, Monteverdi specifically made this car with a Turbo, which was state of the art for 1983. The exact output of that one particular car is unknown, but is believed to be in the region of 750hp. The car was brutally faster then even the Countach, although because it was not mass produced, it was not well known. In the early eighties, communication came by phone, mail, or word of mouth, and the internet was unheard of. This car in stock form could hit 210mph, although the only man ever to take it to that speed, Monteverdi himself, stated that at that speed his car became incredibly floaty, and he recommended that none of his buyers take it over 190.
A marvelous car indeed.
