I saw the car in person btw, at 2006 Mitomacchina, simply gorgeous.
Unfortunately I had a crappy camera at that time, and basically all the pics I took were uber crappy.
Yeah, I recognize the area, and I thought it would be you. Still, great work bringing up these photos.

I've seen enough of your pictures to put two and two together.

Still one of my dream cars. I recently saw one in the flesh and it left me speechless.
Such a breathtakingly beautiful machine. Ah, a man can dream.

Basically a race car for the road, in the vein of the Ford GT40 and Ferrari 275 LM. Of course, back then, Le Mans sports prototypes were basically expected to be the equivlant of modern day hypercars. That, and the looser rules and regs for what was considered a "road car" made this possible.

Nowadays, the closest we have to that are cars like the Ferrari F40, the McLaren F1, and the litany of production based GT cars that for the most part (the Maserati MC12 being questionable in these origins) where designed as road cars first and racer's second.

The closest we can get to this nowadays is imagining what it would be like to take an Audi R8 ALMS car, a Bentley Speed 8, an Audi R10 and R15 and a Peugeot 908 out on the road. Insanely fast, but equally insanely impractical, and in no real way road legal by the most liberal definition.
Power to me is having the ability to make a change in a positive way. Don't dream it, be it.
