Which one of these cars would win in a dragrace? I know the Veyron is porky but do you think it would be close race if they both took it on at the Nurburgring. And does anybody know what the lateral g's of the Veyron?

I bet they would be pretty even at the nurburgring, but the venom 1000 would easily win in a drag race because of its lower weight.
Venom would win in a drag race, while the superior handling of the Veyron would let it win at the Nordschliefe

well seeing as the veyron has had several problems getting started...and their car starts at 1.2 million. I' rather have the viper venom (preferably coupe) and keep the change.

That would be very close, but I'd say the Viper would win by a VERY SMALL MARGIN. The Lingenfelter vette would win 50% of the time against the viper.

The veyron should win in the handling department but I think the viper would beat in a drag race.

Dunno. Venom is powerful but 1000 hp or something is no big deal in the car considering it's aftermarket. Veyron also has 1000 hp, but for 1.2 mil the car is more usable but thats no big deal considering its a W16 with 4 turbos
The McLaren F1 would win on me any day. Its usable, does 240 mph, and it doesn't have turbos!!!!!!although the engine is BMW Motorsport.......

I think it would be quite obvious that the Venom, built purely as a log with little control just for speeds that would make your eyeballs penetrate the rear of your skull, would beat a Veyron in drag. The Veyron would beat it in most else.

I think this is the first time anyone has said a 4000 pound car would be better at handling, although it's probably true.

I see the connection between the threads that jb_f1gp made........looks like he compares cars by just looking at how much hp they got.
Btw did someone read the Oct. issue of CAR? They say the Veyron felt like a jet taking off and it's quite comfortable. 212mph on public roads!!!
