    Just a quick one.

like if you go budget and get the cheaper package that doesn't have the hard drive you cann't play the old games.

you have to buy whats called like the playback package or something

this HAS to be one of the most overpriced things ever, by the time you get it all set-up with a few games and a nice spec your over $600!!

All you have to do is at least by the one with the hard drive. They've made it like an emulator, so you can play the games that were meant just for Xbox on the 360. But as of now, I believe there is only a certain amount of games that they've done so you can play it on the 360, but you will be able to download updates through live to let you play other games.

And also, I just found out that it's physically impossible to transfer your saved files on your old xbox to the new 360. That means I have to start all over on all of those games that I've beaten and gotten so far on.

To play your old games all you need is a hard drive. The hard drive contains the emulation software for the old games. Depending on your region you may not be able to play the game, i think european 360's can only play just over 100 of the old games.

Here's the list of playable Xbox games:

You either need to download emulators or get a CD with them

If you read at the top, it says that the list is not final. More could be added.

I was told by a friend that only the most popular Xbox games would be compatible with the 360, I suspect this isn't true (I wouldn't say he's intentionally lying because that's what he's read) but has anyone else got an answer?
