does anybody know why Subaru Japan is still only using the 2 litre turbos, and hasn't moved up to the 2.5?

The gasoline in Japan is a minumum of 93 octane which makes it easier to get reliable power out of smaller engines.

power's not the issue, its torque. The sub-4000rpm torque hole is renowned in the 2 litre, and the 2.5 made it so much better. and think of how much power they good reliably get from a 2.5

I dont know about you, but I am sick of Impreza mods.
In Australia a few months ago before the new model, there was I think over 5 different Imprezas you could buy that were better than the WRX. They just keep sending out limited edition models!

I know what you mean, its a bit like owning a Commodore these days, theres a 50/50 chance it'll be a special edition thats not really THAT special. The only ones you'd be proud of owning would be the 22B, WRP10 (we're the only ones with them) and the prev. US spec STi (first with the 2.5L)
