    Life Transitions...

This is my 1000th post! So to celebrate my achievement, thought Id post something a little different.

Yesterday was discussing 'life transitions' with my tutor. In essence, this is human life moving from childhood to adolescence, to adulthood, old age and inevitably death. But there are many more smaller, yet still significant life transitions happening all around us, almost continuously. Some people are getting married, some blessed with parenthood. Some are graduating and finally heading into the big wide world. Some have managed to get that promotion they were striving for. Some may be moving on from glasses to contacts. Some may be changing from long hair to short. Some may be moving house, whether that be down the road or a completely different country. Some may be buying their first car. Some may be selling their last. Some may be making new friends. Some may be leaving old ones behind.

Some may simply be changing from just a Member to an Enthusiast.

    Very philosophical.

    Nothing stays the same anymore.

Strange, how when we say we fear change, we can't avoid it.

We're constantly changing- 1 second closer to stepping off the mortal coil as every second goes by

One second closer to meeting that one person who can make or break us.

One second further away from innocence and child-like preconceptions of a perfect world...

    The list goes on.

People mostly avoid change. Mostly changes that push us out of our comfort zone. Change however is unavoidable as everything is in a constant state of transition. It's constant flux and we only notice once the change is big enough, for us.

I agree with what you say. Change in any form is a daunting proposition. But once you get the feel for change, some can actively seek it to better themselves. Like when you first start school, you hate it. Got to make new friends, learn the ropes. Then you settle in. Then you change to secondary school, and it starts again. But by the time you get to Uni/college, you've been through the similar ordeals of change, and even though you go through some of the same feelings, you can handle it better.
