Did these things ever make it over to the UK? I've looked quite a few times and hardly ever spotted one. There's a couple on pistonheads, but I've never seen them advertised anywhere else.

Though I agree with you in that a "fun" car is preferable simply a powerful one, it the best of both worlds that are real jewels. MX-5s are great but I'd trade for a little less communicable chassis for a little more power. Say, S2000, not nearly as much of throw-about but it can really run with cars of a serious nature. And I say this after admittedly having a soft spot for the Miata.

That's like comparing a french toast with a fine lobster.
Of course that, although I love our MX-5's, the S2000 is on a different league. I'd love to have one. Id' love to be able to afford one, and then keep the MX-5 and use the money on something else!

Id personally go the supercharged route easy and cheap to get for a 4ag and good response imo and its shocking how much their worth nowdays imports 101 charges 8k for a shithouse one and gets away with it!
