Use the internet at 3am for maximum speed, handy for overnight downloads I suppose.

I work for the largest national supplier of 24mb ADSL in this country.. but due to my crappy phone line, I get 3.7mb. Our (previously government owned) national telephony supplier offers 1.5 max and charges far too much for it at both wholesale and retail, and it's getting worse now that it's privately owned. The Man messed up when they sold it off, they should have separated the wholesale (all the infrastructure et all) and the retail (the administration stuff) to create a fair and level playing field. As it is, they charge more for a wholesale phone line than a retail one.

I have 2Mbps/512kbps. No need for bigger download speeds, I often get ~200kBps, but the upload is pathetic, faster than 1Mbps uploading connections are a bit too expensive for a student.

3MBps is what they say it is I have hit higher speeds than that though before On p2p it lies everywhere between 10 B/s up to 2-3 MB/s (usually about 20kb/s)

My download speed really depends on the server im d/l it from cos my connection is so fast

I've got 4Mb/sec down and 256Kb/sec up. The download is reasonable but the upload is crap. Thinking of upgrading to VDSL which is 17Mb down and still only 400 Kb up. I'd really like faster upload speeds but those only come with SDSL lines here and they are ridiculously expensive.

PS: I think some people here are confusing MB/sec with Mb/sec.

We've got 256k ADSL at home, usually maxes out ~25, 26/kbs. Uploads are only 64k though, which sucks seeing as though I upload photos onto the net.

I'm not sure. In documents they say it's 256/128 Kbps, but it shows 320 Kbps on the comp. In the night I can easily get the download speed to max, during the day it's about 150-170 Kbps. Faster for P2P (I use eMule and Soulseek mainly). The cost is 19EUR (24USD) per month, but you can substract it when you're paying the yearly peronal income tax.
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

You know what is so funny, There was a Article in a Aussie paper that Cyco Brought up, It said we Australia are behind in the world of INTERNET speeds. But looking around here are we? 24mbps? 18mbps? How many have faster then that??.
