I think the rear of the coupe looks great.
You can call me scott.
I loved the last one becuase it's purely british and Jaguarish. Big, weighty, powerful, fast, elegant and it has a timeless beauty. I didn't know you were like that...Originally Posted by IWantAnAudiRS6

After seeing the new XK on the roads, this should look very cool. But, the base model doesnt do much very well compared to rivals, so for me this should have been the 'base' model, and they should do an XKR-R.... now that would be a challenger to the big dogs.

Why do you say that?Originally Posted by RazaBlade

Its lower in the power stakes, doesnt weigh that much less than them, I appreciate it provides a bit of Jag soul, but in my eyes, for me, it just seems a little inadequate, when put next to a 650i, a Maser Coupe 4.2, 911.
This XKR seems to fill in the gaps now, it gives you the extra power to put it up there with the competitors, but retains all the other good qualities.

then again when the last XK came out alot of people hated it but towards the end of its production people started liking it...i think the same is going to happen with this one...
You type without knowledge, you are 'a keyboard warrior - lots of mouth, little brain....
No way. The old XK was utterly, utterly beautiful- even more so than the DB7 that it was developed with.Originally Posted by Clique
However, this new one does look like a Ford Taurus- there is no getting past it. I was hoping that PAG would turn the brand round, but instead we get a little fat XJ (X-Type), a weird-looking saloon that drives amazingly but is... aesthetically challenged (S-Type), an uglier version of the previous luxobarge (XJ), and the new XK, which I think is a significant step backward. Sure, it's lighter, but who gives a shit when it doesn't make people cum in their pants at 20 paces?
I will always remember Jaguar for the XJ6/XJ12, which was the most gorgeous saloon ever (the bonnet looked like it was poured into place!), the XK from the 90's, the XJ220, the XK150, the Mark II, and the E-Type. Those were the days when I loved Jaguar.
Probably but, the BMW 650i is seriously ugly, the Maserati Coupe GT is dynamically challenged and if you buy a standard Porsche 911 Carrera you're a fat balding middle aged man. Which leaves us right with the Jaguar XK...Originally Posted by RazaBlade

Can someone please post the high-res versions of the pics I posted in my thread: http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum...t=26717&page=2 ?
I think Koenigsegg is Swedish for: "Oh no, my head's just exploded!"
Jeremy Clarkson
Shame shame, poor Jaguar
just 420 bhp...
The XKR must VS BMW M6, SL AMG or CL AMG,
the 4th pic not work!Originally Posted by McLareN
But it is a lot lighter than any of those. Plus Jaguar has designed this car in a shoe string budget...Originally Posted by Dary

Oh no's. ONLY 420bhp.Originally Posted by Dary
Get real mate. If it had 150bhp, then you've got a real reason to cry.
It's not all about outright speed- see my beloved Audi RS series for proof. For years they've killed BMW's M series for performance, but BMW's handling has ensured that they've stayed top of the heap.
The same goes for this. If it handles as well as I hope it will, then the "lack" of power will be made up for by a superb chassis.
And anyway it's cheaper than any of the german rivals.
