Another thread that dedicates a lot more pics.

Starting with Hi-res from the (X150) XKR Convertible (4.2 Supercharged) Portfolio.
Differences to stock are visual stuff like two different sets of 20" rims, larger brakediscs with red painted callipers and a high-end sound-system...

More audio and the second type of rims with body painted in Ultimate Black.

(I had to change the image format to GIF at picture 7 and 8 because JPEG busted out of the forum limit)

Oh, an engine photo. A while ago I read in an australian magazin:

"For this money, you don't want to read supercharged, you want to see it!"

some might think this car needs an extra-thread. But the 2008 XKR-S can also be regarded as slightly upgraded and better equipped XKR.

It has a reworked suspension: Computer Active Technology Suspension (CATS) ,lowered 10 mm, stiffed, more direct steering, better S Alcon R-performance brakes (400 mm discs at front, 350 mm rear) with red painted callipers (6-piston front and 4-piston rear), custom multi-spoke 20" rims "Vortex" with high-performance Pirellis, a ground effects kit (consisting of frontspoilerlip, sidesills and reardiffusor painted in gray and slightly larger, colour-coded trunkspoiler with 3rd LED brakelight), a few interior changes (leather upholstery with Charcoal with Ivory twin-needle contrast stitching, Piano Black veneer, Charcoal Alston luxury headlining) and several XKR-S badges.

The engine is still the 4.2 liter supercharged V8, still delivering 416 hp maximum output but what makes it special is that Jaguar raised the speedlimiter. Instead of 250 km/h it closes down at 280 km/h (170 mph) now. They also installed an active exhaust system for better sound.

The Jaguar (X150) XKR-S (4.2 Supercharged) is limited to only 200 units sold in Europe (right- and lefthand-drive) and was only available in Ultimate Black Metallic.

Strange, that some pics show the start-stop button on the left and some on the right side.

XKR-S in illuminated tunnel. Awesome reflections on the paintjob.

    2009+ Jaguar (X150) XKR (5.0 Supercharged) Coupe.

The relaunched XKR is more than just a facelift. Apart from new front- and rear-fascia, full-LED taillights, redesigned sidemirrors with integrated indicators, restyled alloy sets and a leveled up interior Jaguar did a lot of work under the body.

The Suspension is completely reconfigured and electronical linked to the "drive-selector" button on the centerconsole. A differential lock has been added so the new XKR has a lot more grip and is less tail-happy now.
Under the bonnet the old 4.2 liter supercharged V8 has been replaced by a 5.0 liter supercharged V8. Sounds like just an enlarged displacement but it definately is more than that. With 510 it delivers almost 100 horsepower more output and sprints almost a half second faster from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) than the predessessor (4.8 against 5.2 seconds). With 12.3 liter fuel consumption on 100 kilometers the wildcat is not as thirsty as it was in its old days. It even features the only engine of this type that stays under 300 miligrams CO2 emission.
A pitty but Jaguar still limits the speed to 155 mph (250 km/h)

While the front end shows chromed eloxed vents that appear like canine teeth some people will miss the front fog lights the new XKR even offers adaptive corner lighting. The interior is now produced in better quality, the green illumination has been replaced by white, blue and red background lighting and the automatic gear lever has been replaced with the already mentioned drive-select multifunctional button.

All in one the 2009 XKR appears fresh, fast and cotrollable like a modern gran tourismo (grand tourer) and finally the interior looks and feels like you expect it from a car of this priceclass.

In my opinion Jaguar should have hidden the antenna under the windshield. On the other hand no other car manufacturer combines rearspoiler-decklid with a covered aerial.
