I bought a second hand IBM ThinkPad X23 subnotebook with docking station and bag off of ebay.
I would've bought a MacBook but I can't justify the cost right now seeing that I would only use the portable very little (maybe once or twice a month really using it). I have my iMac as my main computer at home. As a life long mac user it's an absolute sin to buy this but I must admit that Thinkpads are THE best laptops money can buy (even better than the Apple portables).
It has a 12" screen, P3M 866mhz CPU, 384MB RAM, 30GB HD and it weighs 1,7kg. The optical drive is located in the docking station.

What's next ? Max out the ram to 640MB, add bigger 7200rpm HD and get a new battery.

I've been experimenting with Ubuntu linux but I use the sleep mode a lot and sleep is frustratingly slow on Linux. So I'll have to put up with windoze for the time being.

It does have one intersting feature and that is the built-in compact flash reader. Which is handy to get images of my camera when being on the road. Keeps my from buying a ton of compact flash cards.

Oh and what's real reason that I bought this: it's for school when I occasionally have to work in the library. Like tomorrow.

I went into Vodafone today too ask about the maxi cap plans they have, I'm on a prepiad plan and was really asking for my mum.
So the guy tells me about the $49 maxi plan you get $230 for $49 per month.
Sounds good and all. then he tells me do you want a free phone with that

It's a pretty good phone does decant video and pics for a phone.. One of the best features on it is record your phone conversation If someone is being a prick too you record them hahaha love it.
I needed a new phone so bad, My sharp gx-10 broke, My old 5110 wont pick up a signal anymore, So it was back too the good old 6150 that would turn itself off when it felt like it.

Last time I went out shopping for a phone I wanted one of those sliders as well. The guy told not to get one. The reliability is horrible. +75% of those sliding Nokias get returned with some sort of issue.
