Is that a genuine Victa bullbar?

Good choice on the Diamante. Magnas are pretty reliable vehicles that provided they are treated with some respect, will survive long and hard lives.
As for the Victa...well, when you're chasing those ground rodents, you dont' want them dinting your paintwork, now do you.

My dad had a magna of simmilar vintage, five speed auto/tiptronic with either 2.6 or 3.0 litre goodness.
Wasn't much slower than the replacement BA Mk2 falcon either. Was nicer inside and the turning circle was good too. Its a great second car, good find.
(and clutch yes, I was looking at a magna sport when i settled for the POS that was the silvia)

KM's are 196,000 btw Clutch. Bit high but I only do about 8000 a year and not planning to own it for more than a few years (probably sell it on when I get to Uni). Not blowing smoke yet. Haven't tried any U-turns but the steerings pretty light so the 3 pointers won't be too much of a strain! Cheers Ballz, I reckon this is more refined than the 2005 Commodore Executive I drove earlier this year. Far smoother ride.
They're a brilliant car - Under rated in every aspect.
It was the 3.0 sport pack that my father had - truely surprised a few XR6's and S pack commos.

Mums got the 3.5L Magna, the turning circle is horrific but aside from that its a great car, mechanically bullet proof if you treat it well.
The Datto will rage again...
i remember the manuals being suprisingly fast.
i don't mean sportscar fast, but like they ran somewhere in the 14's when stock

Congrats on the new car Spas.
Yep, did you notice the OE cupholder and factory mags (widies on the rear)
Best wishes for the new car it looks a million dollars mate.KM's are 196,000 btw
I've always admired the clean styling of that shape, which IIRC achieved an impressive aero Cd of 2.95 I think.
Not sure how close a '95 JDM Diamante is to Oz built TE-on Magna/Verada, which have long-life platinum spark plugs on the rear bank only, that last for 100,000 km. They fit these long-life plugs because plug removal on the rear bank of V6 Magnas requires lifting the motor slightly to gain access, its not that big of an issue but probably a mechanic-only job hence worth mentioning to you beforhand if your DJM turns out the same.
I can't remember how long the timing belt lasts for on Mitsu V6 (140,000 km??) but you should investigate, also factory-spec coolant change.
The automatics on our Magnas had a poor but improving reputation for durability until later years, again not sure how relevant this is to your car. A lot of these modern autos have 'sealed for life' trans oil, although many would counsel for a prompt transmission service for peace of mind to extend trans life ... while others advise to 'let sleeping dogs lie' if its working alrite, lest a service introduce a new set of dramas to what is presumably a currently well-functioning auto. Sorry I can't recommend or offer advise on this either way.
ps I rather like Magnas and recently had a TF wagon buy-sell, although speaking of automatics, if I were you (and I'm not) I'd still be wondering about that rwd benz.
