That comment doesn't show much knowledge. Does the interest and quality of a car expire after some years? Name a recent affordable car (same budget as for the Venturi) that goes better or is more interesting.Originally Posted by kentuki

Porsche 911 Carrera S for sheer performance, Maserati Gransport for interest...Originally Posted by McReis

From such a knowledgeable and reasonable member and can just hope that was a joke.Originally Posted by Ferrer

Well... I don't find $104k affordable at all honestly. Not for a car that does 0-60 in 6 seconds and has a top speed of 163mph. A Cayman can do that, and even a Nissan 350Z can pull similar numbers for a lot less money. That's not to say I don't like it, because I never look at tohse kind of cars with rationality...Originally Posted by McReis

Well, I was not thinking exactly and solely on the 300, and I don't believe their current value is above 50.000€. It's still a rare (there were only made 700 Venturis) and refined 310bhp car.Originally Posted by Ferrer
Venturis are dynamicly good and underrated. And at least they aren't the obvious choice.

Well at 50k € it makes a lot more sense. Double that and it's into dangeous 911 territory.Originally Posted by McReis

They were being sold as new in 2000 by $104k. I don't expect them to be much above 50.000€ 6 years later. Depreciation hits hard this kind of cars, specially those wich maker has gone bankrupt for the 2nd time.Originally Posted by Ferrer

That price and spec isn't far off the Lotus Esprit of the time.
Thanks for all the fish
And judging by a comparative I've read, the driving experience is very leveled too.Originally Posted by Coventrysucks

I'd prefer the V8 Lotus though...Originally Posted by McReis

Err, you do realise that it was built in England, right?Originally Posted by Ferrer
At least the French one will just be cheaply made, as opposed to cheaply made and broken down.

Yes but as I said some posts earlier I never look at those cars rationally....Originally Posted by Coventrysucks
Oh and the Lotus has a french gearbox... that's got to count for something...

Yea.. apparently it counts as the worse part of the driving experience!
Its a very common part of the waiting for the AA truck experience too.
Haha yea, just ask 5th Gear...
