i can shoot reasonably well, and that blows me away.. even with a well scoped, high powered weapon, with a stand, sling, etc, its still an incredible shot.

what makes it even better is that the target only held the pistol in one spot for a second.

yeah that shot is def. a classic.

Actually from that range i know people who could do that with a crossbow...well, depending on the range, it looks fairly close.

Yeah at 40 yards a sniper rifle is really damn accurate

the pistol looks like a Beretta 92F or similar. The bit that falls out does seem to roll a bit though, so maybe it is a small revolver. Its pretty hard to tell from that vid.

Oh, and I'm pretty sure the rifle the SWAT guy uses to shoot the pistol out of his hand is a Remington 700 Police TWS, the same rifle my mate owns. Although I believe that law enforcement only use the less powerful 5.56mm NATO catridge, to reduce the chance of the projectile travelling through the target and hitting hostages/non combatants.

When he saw this vid, he was certain that he could recreate the same scene without too much difficulty, and he is only an amature.

That was an amazing shot. I saw it happen live on TV. The gun the sniper shot from his hand is mounted on a plaque in the SWAT headquarters.

considering the scope is usually set for 200 yards that's not exactly relevant
