Help!

I forgot to mention this the other night but I've just gotten my new RB26DETT, and I need help uninstalling my Rotary.

Is there any sites to help with this?

Why install a heavy engine and mess up the perfect RX7 handling...I am assuming that you have a RX7 as you mention a rotary...
Also i am sure you have been on this forum long enough to realise that it doesnt really specialise in engine un/installs therefore its best if you go on to a RX7 forum and maybe a Skyline forum...But the best thing is to get a pro mechanic to do the swap for you as it is really hard and its really easy to make little mistakes which will just end up pi$$ing you off...

I like doing things myself. Besides I have massive spare time, and I wan to get it done before winter. I have plans for a trip.

Custom engine mounts, custom trans mounts, custom wiring (probably stand-alone). You'll have to modify the shift linkage at the minimum.

I'd imagine the RB is a much taller motor than the Wankel is. You may have hood clearance issues, too. Or it may sit too low. In which case you're going to have to run a dry sump system. Which is expensive.

So you have a welder, milling machine, drill press, tools, and the skills to do the swap?

Did you even do measurements before buying the engine?

I don't really care how much money you have, money can't buy you the skills that you need. The only thing money can do for you in this situation is giving it to a mechanic to do the swap for you. I'm just being honest.

If you really want to do it, you're going to need extensive knowledge in how electricity works, and how electronics work. At the minimum, get a shop manual for your car and the car the motor came out of. Matching up the electronics is going to be costly and time consuming. I'm assuming you have an FC and the motor's out of a R34 Skyline. You'll pretty much be stripping out all of the FC wiring and re-routing it through the RB ECU.

When you got the RB motor, what all did you get? Just the motor? Motor and trans? Or did you get the whole motor/trans, as well as the wiring harness, ECU, instrument cluster, and all the independent modules? You'd be best off getting the whole wrecked car. That way you won't get held up by not having a specific part.

Once you get to the actual swap part, label and take pictures of everything you take out or apart. It will help later when it's 2am, you're a little drunk, and can't remember if you had something bolted into that spot or not.
