The sheer numbers makes it impossible. It's the same situation with peer to peer programs. It's nearly impossible for authorities to start convicting people for downloading music.

But illegal is illegal, so there would have to be a consequence wouldn't there?

I really can't tell much difference. Are we talking about a ground-up new car that looks like the new one with new headlights and door shapes (think 996/997), or is this an end-of-run facelift?

After all the talk about making 4-door minis, Mini pickups, and Mini Backhoes I was expecting somthing a little more radical.

It looks bloated. Like a washed-up singer who belongs in Vegas. The next step is dead on the toilet.

I think it's been uglified comparing with the previous one.

But have you seen the specs on the UCP page for the new Mini? It says it weights 1515kg. This is wrong isn't it? Because if it isn't... oh my god...

The new mini looks very similar to the old new mini, neither are particulaly attractive.

Sure, I wouldn't mind checking what Top Gear has to say about it. Thanks Adam!

Back to the Mini, it's growing on me, though I still think it's been powder-puffed too much.

as an owner of the current mini, i am excited to drive the new one, but i am not excited to look at it. they have taken what was subtle and exaggerated it. the fender flares are too much.. substantially larger than the current ones. the headlights were changed to not be lifted with the hood, but they are way too huge, especially when compared with the shrunken grille. the side vents are silly looking, and the tail lights arent very attractie either.

ive seen a few promotional videos where you can hear it, but its not really any better or worse than the current. if anything it doesnt have the low pitch burble that the supercharged one has, nor the real high pitch whine at the top end.

regardless, my wife did give me the okay that if i wanted to get one when they came out, i could. since my warranty is just about up with the current one, and i really dont want to pay for the maintenance of one. when they make it over here i will definitely drive one and provide a review.
