    Actually the XL is the long wheelbase version, the range works like this:

    GMC Yukon = Rebadged Chevrolet Tahoe
    GMC Yukon XL = Rebadged Chevrolet Suburban

    I've driven an XL when I holidayed in California in March 2004, it's not as bad as you all seem to think...

    I'm aware of that; nothing you said contradicts anything I said. The long-wheelbase version used to be called Suburban by both GMC and Chevrolet, but a few years back the GMC Suburban became the GMC Yukon XL. I was merely trying to explain that the name "GMC Suburban" is no longer used.
