The Duke is always going to be desirable,

They come with a guarantee to break-down regularly I'm told. At astronomical fixing prices too.

No idea about the reliability issues, but the high maintainence costs come from the Desmo system

60thou is the major servicem, which apparently involves all but replacing the entire valvetrain. Supposedly Duc dealers are full of 2nd hand bikes for sale with nearly 60thou on the clock

    No Match

There is absol-****ing-lutely no match between BMW K1200S and Ducati Desmosedici RR. Suzuki Hayabusa which debut in 1999 is faster than BMW K1200S in every sense. But busa isn't fast enough. Literally every Japanese 1-litre class Supersports Bike is much more faster than Hayabusa. BMW just has a little bit better brake than Japanese's. It's one last strong point.

But Ducati is different. Desmosedici RR is first MotoGP based mass-production motorcycle. Of course, It's faster than ever. (Except some crazy bikes like Y2K, Tomahawk)

Someone who knows about motorcycle even a little bit will never suffer from choosing which one is better. Absolutely Ducati RULEZ.

It isn't always about speed, and there was no need to bring this thread back up.
