    Which car company?

The recent addition of the Venturi concept cars has just made me think, which car company has done the most in the ways of alternate power? It is obvious that alot of European manufacturers are doing so. I have seen a few BMW hydrogen cars, but they havent made most of the hydrogen line full production(as far as i know) and i know of a lexus hydroden, and plllleennnttyy of hybrids, but as far as totally gas free, there arent many companies(especially American, even with biodiesel) that have mainstreamed these cars. which company do you think has done the most in the search for alternate power?

on a different note, just a thought that i woudl like opinions on, my chemistry teacher was talking about going back to gasohol. i think its something like ethanol? which would supposedly be alot cheaper and still able to run in every car

Honda has a fully functioning hydrogen car, it just needs the infrastucture.

This has nothing to do with 'alternative fuel sources' but VAG have come up with a range of direct-injection engines that combine extra power with increased fuel range and economy engines for Skoda-VolksWagen-Audi-SEAT cars called FSI (with many varients) meaning "Fuel Stratified-charge Injection)

    These different varients include:

    FSI - Fuel Stratified-charge Injection
    TFSI - Turbo-charges Fuel Stratified-charge Injection
and VolksWagen's own TSI (new Golf GT) - Twin-charged Fuel Stratified- charge Injection meaning it has both a Super-charger AND a Turbo-charger whilst using the FSI Technology and a small 1.4 petrol and 2.0 Diesel engine.

They all come in different sizes including:

    1.4-TSI - VW Golf GT/Sport/VW Touran SE/Sport

    1.6-FSI - VW Golf/VW Golf-Plus-VW Jetta/VW Beetle Luna/VW Passat/VW Eos/VW Touran/Audi A3/Skoda Roomster/Skoda Octavia

    2.0-FSI - VW Golf/VW Golf-Plus/VW Jetta/VW Beetle/VW Passat/VW Eos/Audi A3/Audi A4/Skoda Roomster/Skoda Octavia/SEAT Leon/SEAT Altea

    2.0-TFSI - VW Golf/VW Golf GTI/VW Golf-Plus/VW Jetta/VW Passat/VW Eos/Audi A3/Audi S3/Audi A4/Audi A6/Audi TT/Skoda Octavia/Skoda Octavia vRS/SEAT Leon/SEAT Altea/SEAT FR Series

    3.2-V6-FSI - VW Golf R32/VW Passat/VW Eos/VW Touareg/VW Phaeton/Audi A3/Audi A4/Audi A6/Audi TT/Audi A8

    4.2-V8-FSI - (VW Touareg/VW Phaeton/Audi S4/Audi A6/Audi A8/Audi Q7/Audi R8

    5.2-V10-FSI - Audi S6/Audi S8

Sorry if that bored you. I'm dead bored. Thats why I did it. hehe. But still. I'm making a point..?

Not to be an ass, but that's redundant. Ethanol is Ethyl Alchohol, so there is no need to say that it's alchohol-that's inherant.

Pick either Toyota, GM or Ford. Toyota have done the best in Hybrid Synergy Drive with their Prius, which is actually still on the market. GM however have made fuel-cell cars which is due to start researching and making on 1 January 2009. Ford have bio fuel with their F-250 Super Chief or whatever it is. Their fuel has a mix of ethanol and nitrogen or something like that. (Remember, I don't know because this was shown at the Detroit Motor Show.) However I am the biggest fan of what Toyota is doing to help the enviroment. Thanks Toyota, keep up the good work.
Apparently for every Civic Hybrid sold Honda puts in 18 trees, but I'm not a fan of it because you don't see many of em on Aussie roads.
