Should it be the GT500 with its 5.4 and its blower?
Or the C6 with its LS2 and its good looks?

With the price of the GT500 why not just go for the C6 coupe? It handles better as it IS a sportscar and not a muscle car. Both would be great fun but I'm going with the C6. I am a fanboy though

They are tottally different cars actually. You can't compare them, as they target a different target group.
I'd go for the C6 anytime
Minimising losses can maximise net gains
Corvette C6 after it creamed the GT500 in a Car and Drive test.
Reason 2: It weighs more than the original GT500....
2007 Acura TL Type-S (AEM V2, R-V6 Race/J-Pipe, ATLP Quad Exhaust)
2011 BMW 328i Coupe
The only argument going for the GT500 is that it has a back seat, other than that, the C6 dominates, so i'd take that vette any day
Gt500 is a fat lard, C6 PLEASE!
vette is sexy, stang is a chick mobile or a young boys car, GT500 or not
Gone:
09 Ducati Monster 696
09 Audi Q5 3.2
03 Infiniti G35 Sedan
07 Honda Civic Coupe LX 5spd
Current:
10 BMW 335d
12 Audi Q5 2.0t
10 VW Jetta TDI
11 Ducati Monster 796
The C and D tests were shit. The car has gotten as low as 12.2's in other mags. I like both and to be honest the only way I could pick is if I drove them both. There both nice cars for sure but different strokes for different folks.Originally Posted by F1_Master

I'm gonna go against the grain here and say the GT500. C6s are very common, the GT500 won't be as much. The GT500 will be more collectable in the future since i carries the Shelby name. It's not as sexy as a Vette true, but it's a mean looking sucker none the less.

You have very convincing points. The only thing is that the old GT500 looked so different from its everyday mustang counterparts, people knew that it was something special when it drove by, whereas the new GT500 could pass for being just another mustang. I just can't make up my mind. I voted for the C6, but I hadn't really given it much thought.Originally Posted by taz_rocks_miami
If you look at it closely, there are subtle differences with the "normal" Mustang GT. Look at the front for example. The the GT500 has an independent rear suspension, the GT a solid rear axle, thus handling should be improved in the GT500.Originally Posted by RobPorsche

Why do you guys keep saying the Mustang is to heavy? To heavy for what? Its not a race car its a street machine. It is however something you might drive to work everday and it does alot more than go fast. I can imagine the ride would even be better alot better than the vette also.

I would take the GT500. I wouldn't generally compare the two, but the GT500 looks meaner. It has more character than the C6, more attitude. Prolly sounds better too (not that I have heard either of them in real life, I'm just guessing). Oh, and Ford blessed it with an independent rear suspension

That is the only way you should choose between two cars!!Originally Posted by rev440

The GT500's a glorified hairdressers car. The Corvette these days isnt too far off, but at least its better packaged.
