The Supra has a great engine, but a so-so chassis, from what I've read.

At any rate, where are the rally reps? Surely the WRX and EVO deserve mention in a "best ever Japanese" shortlist.
I believe so. The evo and the WRX are both able to compete against ferraris, etc, in Top Gear. The performance is very good, and can be used in most type of races, including circuit racing, drag racing, and in some case, drift racing ( in FF tokyou drift ). How ever, I'd rather go for the WRX, since Mitsubishi has a very very very bad reputation in Japan, for faulty cars.
    My motto: Quality over quantity.

i think you gotta look at the time period.

when the nsx first came out it was not only the best car in japan, but one of the best in the world. but nowadays its a little different.

i think the nsx is still the best of all those, but its also waaaay more expensive and a supra/rx-7/300zx with about 3-5 grand in modifications will be faster and still a hell of a lot cheaper although prolly not as good handling or looking so its sort of a toss up.

if money was no issue id get the nsx, but if it had to pay for the car i would get the 300zx cause i like the look of them and because supra's are soooo played out.

    Luxurioux, you're a smart man.

Roosterjuicer, I agree the the NXS was, and arguably still is too expensive. It was a product of it's time, for sure, you're right, but look a what Ferrari was doing back then; the 308/328's Pininfarina bodywork still makes me weak at the knees, but under the skin is a creaky old Fiat chassis and wiring that looks like I installed it...

The NSX was a revelation matched most closely by the Porsche Boxter the better part of a decade later, and with the "Poorsche" image the Boxter has made for itself... well... I'd rather have a secondhand NSX for the money.

A well-kept example still exudes classy cool, and identifies its owner as a conneissuere (misspelled, I know) of thouroughly modern but still not reeking of the "flavor of the month" sportscars that litter most upscale streets.

Also, I agree the Supra popped its last cherry and became just another skank at the moment Vin Diesel took the wheel of one.
