Top 10... World's fastest cars

More than ever, the answer to this perennial question is: pretty seriously fast. How does a mile every 15 seconds grab you? We only include cars that are currently in production or about to get there – so the Ford GT and Porsche Carrera GT are (sadly) now gone from our list. As ever we start with the "slowest" and work upwards.

Another notable absentee, the Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, makes no greater claim than 320 km/h/200 mph +, even if previous talk had suggested 420 km/h (260 mph) might be possible.

10.Ruf RT12 well over 320 km/h (200 mph)

9.Aston Martin Vanquish S – 320 km/h / 200 mph +, 0-100 km/h: 4.8 sec.

8.Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano – 320 km/h (205 mph) +, 0-100 km/h: 3.7 sec.

7.Mercedes SLR McLaren "722 Edition" – 336 km/h (209 mph), 0-100 km/h: 3.6 sec.

6.Lamborghini Murciélago LP640 – 340 km/h (211 mph), 0-100 km/h: 3.4 seconds

5.Pagani Zonda C12 F – 336 km/h (209 mph) 214 mph, 0-100 km/h: 3.5 sec.

4.Gumpert Apollo – 360 km/h (224 mph), 0-100 km/h: 3.0 sec.

3.Bristol Fighter T – 362 km/h (225 mph) +, 0-100 km/h: 3.5 sec.

2.Koenigsegg CCX – 394 km/h (245 mph) +, 0-100 km/h: 3.2 sec.

1.Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron – 407 km/h (253 mph) +, 0-100 km/h: 2.5 sec.

Could only load the top 6 cars.

That's for the Fighter T, the turbocharged version. Bristol car claiming that it'lll do 270, but they're limiting it.

yay!!! another fastest car list. if i had a nickel for every one of these that has been posted on here.

maybe someone should do a list that is sticky for every confirmed top speed. so we can have the full on most legitimate comprehensive top speed list. just everything above 180 or 190 so its not too horribly long.

With no age restrictions that would be an enourmous list. Still, it makes a lot more sense than dozens of threads do.

well, i think it woudl ave to be limited to road cars. if it were race cars it could go on all week. maybe with some notable exceptions, like Kenney Bernstein's Bud King, the first dragster to break 300. things like that.
