The world record Viper that went 7.98/183 in the 1/4 is up for sale. The new owner will be very lucky, but I hope they are experienced enough to handle the car. Here is the viper that made a little over 1500hp on the dyno there is a video in the ebay link hope you check it out.

Actually the early 911 Turbos (930s) were sold as Turbo Carrreras in the US for a period of time. But it's unlikely he was referring to them...

What world record do they claim? Search Red Victor 2 and you find a crazy pom with an old Vauxhall that's done 7.8/183, street rego'd. He seems to have mostly built it himself, too. Doesn't look as hot as the Dodge, but the numbers are impressive.

The viper is the fastest 6 speed manual car. It runs a T-56 to get these times. Any car that traps over 160mph needs a parachute as well.
