    Looking for the new world

New pics. I haven't really done much since I got the car. New wheels, sound system, short throw shifter and the other day I did the airbox mod. I know I need to lower it.

System is a Rockford Fosgate Power HX2 slightly older but back when RF was known for better quality. It's hooked to a Boston Acoustics 1,000 watt amp and an Optima Yellow Top.

Wheels are technically off of a 2007 Cobalt Revolution but I'm 100% certain they are made by Saturn and Chevy just put their center caps on.

Wheels look better than the hubs but lol at the wafer boot lid. Could that sub BE any bigger?
What's happening about your replacement ideas?

Ps. Your parking is worse than Niko's!

The only thing that rattles is the flappy door thing under the trunk carpet that lets pressure out so the trunk lid closes properly. It's been to cold for me to take everything out and seal it up.

So about 3 weeks ago my amp decided it no longer wanted to live and cooked itself. Lucky its under warranty and I just needed to ship it off to Boston to get fixed. While I was in there I figured what better time to sound deaden... Um.. Everything. So I pulled all the trunk carpets spare tire, jack, and the battery and stuck in just under 60 square feet of RAAmatt. The whole process took about 8 hours of cutting, sticking, rolling, and pressing the matt to anything and everything. I did two layers on the trunk lid, the underside of the rear deck and the wheel wells. I also used some contractor grade expanding foam to fill in some hollow holes inside the trunk that the sound can resonate off of. My amp should return to me next week at which point everything goes back in (minus the spare) and I can test my work.

If you're thinking about doing this here are some tips:

    1. Take your time. Once you take everything out of your trunk you will shit bricks about how big it is. Just keep working at it. Take two days if necessary.
    2. Pick a cool day. I can't imagine doing this if its hot out. It was 60 here.
    3. Roll it with a seam roller. you can get these at home depot for like $2.99. Make sure it sticks well on curves. Basically roll the shit out of it.
    4. Buy a 12 pack. Seriously.
    5. Don't worry about cutting it. Scissors will do fine.
