    Question about my car..

I had a question about my car, it starts to shake rather vigorously when you start to hit 80km/h anything slower then that and the car rides smoothly. What makes it shake? It sort of bobs up and down like the tires are off...and any ideas what the remedy is and how much roughly it costs? The car is a 92 cavalier...thx in advance..

Is it a random recent thing or is it something that slowly got worse?

If it appeared at random one day, you might have just lost a wheel weight.

Other than that, it could be a rake of things.

Give your tyres a bit of a looking at. I had a pair that weren't actually round. It's not common but it does happen.

after the tyres check the rims themselves for distortion/damage.
Then check the wheel bearings and ball joints for movement and then the drive shafts.
    Next ... the shock absorbers.
Wear in any of these can induce what you describe

Was gonna say to get an aluminum driveshaft since that seems to help with vibration issues in my '91 chevy... then I realized you're FWD

In my driving lessons car someone had hit a curb (n00balert !). This caused some kind of damage to the suspension, probably a bearing or joint or something. When going faster than 130 km/h it started shaking a bit. Have it checked out.

See if a wheel weight fell off first. If so, go to a tire place and get them balanced. Also check your pressures. I don't think it would severe suspension damage because it comes and goes depending on the speed.
