Nissan are claiming that they've made the new GTR "tuner proof." And while I don't buy that exactly -tuners will worm their way into it eventually- I don't think you'll ever see quite the same numbers out of the new car as from the old. The days of simply turning up the boost on the RB26/2JZ are over...

If you're going to make the new GTR tuner proof, you might as well not sell the damn car at all.

Bigger turbo, after market computer management, larger inter cooler, injectors, a whole new strengthened engine block/internals, and tons of $$$$$$$$ should get you that 1000hp.......................oh BTW to hell with fuel consumption, with emissions, with drivability and with torque. Most likely this 1000hp RB powered GTR (older one) will be beaten sh1tless by your average Camry driver on normal stop and go traffic.

Show me these street driven 1000hp skylines? Seriously, if they are that easy to achieve then show me.

You can call me a dinosaur but does chevy really need to start supercharging vets after 55 years? I am inclined to believe that if the direct injection
technology used in the new CTS were applied to the LS7 similar hp numbers would be attainable without the increased weight and complexity of a supercharger. There have also been some rumors about a 454 ci smallblock that, with direct injection, could surely match the output of the LS9.

good point, what about cost effectiveness though? i mean they can't even do a proper interior for the Z06, i don't expect them to go all out this

Again only rumors, but I have heard that it will have a better interior.

I have to commend you on your signature, only time I laughed out loud today.

They fixed that bit to. There is some upgraded interior package with full leather and a bunch more.

Direct injection no doubt offers more power but it could never match the power of a full blown engine. Maybe direct injection and supercharger

O it won't be cheap either. Expect price well north of $100,000

I agree, but I'm not going to fault this engine on that basis...

^ Im with you on this one. I think they should have stuck N/A.
I think the main reason they went with the supercharger is for aftermarket big numbers. A pully swap and a tune and this thing will be seeing 800+hp.

The measly 470 ft-lbs put out by the ZO6 and pathetic 560 put out by the 08 Viper doesn't stir my soul either.

Does the LS1,2,3 have the same heads as the ls9, that would be a worthy addition for the LSX engines here especially with the in built air/water intercooler wont be efficent as cooling the charge as a good air/air though). IIRC the corvette is limited to room so twin snails were too hard to acccomodate unless they went a system like the Gen TT kit here in Australia.

That would look very nice in my skiboat

Im my best Borat Voice" its very very niiicee"

P.S MonaroCuntry STFU will you ,its getting old and tired, each to their own, you dont like jap anything WE GET IT

Still prefer twin snails though , much better than a supercharger IMHO and plenty of scope for tuning
