2008 Race of Champions - Contains Spoilers

The 2008 Race of Champions (Wiki Article with all placings etc) occurred today and the wonderman Sebastien Loeb winning his third Champion of Champions title. He defeated DC in the final. Of note, Carl Edwards beat Schuey in the quarters.

In the Nations' Cup, the German pairing of Schumacher and Vettel edged out the Scandinavians TK and Ekström in a tie break 3rd race. One thing I think mighta been cool and maybe Matra agrees woulda been instead of two UK teams, a Team Scotland and Team England - this rivalry could potentially draw more viewers and a pairing of DC and Dario or Marino Franchitti (now that McRae is gone) against a team of Button and Hamilton would be great - maybe 2009? Unfortunately, Hamilton did not take part in the event and only demonstrated his MP4-23.

It was apparently broadcast live on the web but I missed it. I doubt Speed had it but this is the sort of thing they should be showing especially as it's the off season. Speed is currently on HD preview and I did watch a bit of Formula Drift today - it wasn't very good.

    Interesting.

Yeah, formula drift is entertaining for a bit, and then it just kind of sucks.

All I was interested in was seeing the cars, and the cars were frequently gaudy and ugly perversions of their originals.

We can surmise that Scotland is better than Germany from extrapolation.

You have drawn the idea to it's logical conclusion.

No kidding. The thing that gets me is factory sponsors will run a recently introduced car instead of what would be best (charger and challenger instead of the viper.) It's basically saying the sport is a publicity stunt and not legitimate.

    I agree with that sentiment.

It's the three of us again.

    I fear for the worst.

I did see a Viper actually and it had a big Mopar M on it and it was probably the best livery of the ones I saw - this does not say much. The horrible Falken blue green, the ugly-stick beaten red C5 (which had an Imperial Japanese Flag on it for some reason), a Solstice (which is ugly anyways). It was bad.

    How is FD scored?
It is well known that there is a considerable Japanese presence in Kentucky(IIRC where Vettes are made)
    lol weeabos
Is this the Vette? If so it's hideous.
I like the Solstice's looks, even if it's a bit pudgy.

its scored a bit like ice skating....
    bowling green, KY.
and that is the vette that plays in FD
and i realliy like the Solstice in FD, i think its driven by Rhys Millen. Very nice looking car.

and dont be silly ballz, they are not that proficient.

Why do FD cars have rear spoilers if the whole point is having a wayward rearend?
I know why aesthetically(though I disagree), but wouldn't competitiveness overrule that?
