on the front page of the site is reference to the CERV Corvette built in the 80s. 20 years earlier Chevrolet was involved in a sound-alike project called the CRV, for Cycolac Research Vehicle. Cycolac being a plastic that was used for the body and chassis, powered by Corvair.
I was at the old Thompson Raceway in eastern Connecticut in 1965, flagging for a New England Region National SCCA race and the CRV was there. Can't recall the driver...Jim Jeffords comes to mind, but I don't think it was him. Car had to run D modified (engines 3-4 liter). It was a slug.
Driver (whomever it was) took it off the road into a ravine.
I just thought of it when i saw the CERV item.
