wouldn't quite call them shit though....runflats yes, but quite special runflats.....
one of the things I am most impressed about it was that they basically show that if you can make use of your tire properly you can do some pretty crazy thing with a stock car. Nissan basically had the tires ordered (from both Dunlop and Bridgestone) and setup the car optimumly for them....

So it was cast iron I assume? That is much heavier that the performance engines I am familiar with. Are there any other reasons?
As for the ring times, it would be nice if someone went to the ring and spent a few days there in different conditions with a race driver setting laps but I doubt this will happen.
i cant believe how slow the GTR is in 1/4 mile and 0-60.
I know it probably wont matter in europe or japan but i wonder if that will affect its sales in the US where drag racing is king.

MCR R35 GTR versus an RE Amiya FD RX-7. The Skyline has 20hp above stock with a chip, while the RX-7 Is a full built bridgeported 13B twin turbo setup for this sort of run.
