    Thanks, Kitdy.

I will probably bicycle to a nearby church which will have a fireworks show. (There is a minor traffic jam before and after the show... it is actually faster to get there on a bicycle.)

And I certainly will be drinking something more potent than lemonade... Vanilla Coke!

Vanilla Coke is a damn nice choice, I must say. Happy 4th, Americans.

'Quail is celebrating a rare two days off work in a row in customary fashion. I had a good chat with my editor the other day about whether or not the inevitable minor injuries/burns associated with fireworks are American. We decided it's American unless it leads to an injury that has to be treated by professionals.

I bought about $100 worth of some of the craziest fireworks us Amercans can find (in the Carolina's). Once I get back from work, I'm downing a 12 pack of Newcastle Brown and then it's time to put on an incredible fcking show for my town.

You're a great American, Rock, but our forefathers didn't give their lives so you could drink a 12-er of Newcastle. Get yourself a proper case of Milwaukee's Best and then:

    • Drink as much as you can as quick as you can.
    • While shitfaced, challenge everyone you see to a bottle rocket fight — don't worry, they'll shoot back eventually.
    • Go ahead and finish off that 30-pack of Milwaukee's best, while constantly referring to it as "The Beast," as is the custom in America.
    • Fight some teenagers.
    • Puke, and then pass out in the lawn.

You can sort the rest out on the 5th.

I will be flying this eveing, so I wont be able to enjoy the day as thoroughly as i usually do. the wife and i are headed to California to look at houses to buy for our upcoming move to the Monterey area.

tonight should however provide the interesting oportunity to see numerous fireworks displays from above
