Since Bugatti first showed the production version of the Veyron at Pebble Beach in 2005, several special edition version where launched that differed little from the original design. Now three years later, the supercar manufacturer will unveil the Veyron Grand Sport at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance later this month. The first example off the line of the 'Veyron Roadster' will be offered on auction later that day.
This weekend the Alfa Romeo B.A.T. 11 made its North American debut at the Meadow Brook Hall Concours d'Elegance. Our photographer Rob Clements captured every angle of the full scale model. He also learned that the assembly of the fully functional car is well under way back in Italy.
One of the most unusual machines shown the last few weeks in London was the IFR Automotive Aspid. With this high-tech Spanish roadster, the beauty is clearly skin deep. The roll-out of the revitalised Abarth brand continues with the 180 bhp Grande Punto SS. Porsche seem to be releasing a new car every week; today they released the first details of the limited edition, 303 bhp Cayman S Sport.
With the new A1 GP car, Ferrari is a developing a new single seater racing car for a series other than Formula 1 for the first time in many decades. One of the very last ones was the Dino 166 F2, which was raced in the Formula 2 and various other championships with considerable success. Ferrari's rival Williams F1 are celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. Founder Frank Williams' history in F1 dates back much further. His first full season was in 1970 when he entered the DeTomaso 505 for various drivers.
Although almost entirely forgotten today, Locomobile was once known to sell 'The Best Built Car in America.' A great example of the long lost brand is this fabulous M 48-7 Healey Gunboat Cabriolet.
