The article makes me think that it's American. But, is it? As we all know from one of the many Fleet500 vs. world threads, American police buy American cars.

Yes, Ford did have an interceptor concept:
One of Ford's leading areas is commercial sales so it makes sense for them to look in that direction. Not sure what happened to it though. This was from 2002. What is confusing is in 2007, they had a new 'Interceptor concept' that had nothing to do with police vehicles. It was good looking, but I don't think we heard more out of that one either.

Both Ford and GM both want to put out cars to police departments. I like GM's offering better than Ford, Ford's using the Taurus. Yuck.
