Albers has driven it before, so I'm surprised to see his car off the pace.

They have not had any dry weather testing coming into the race. I expect them to be much closer come qualifying.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Am I right in assuming that they probably tested with the Audi Sport with the R15?

Yeah but also separately at the Lauzitsring in damp and cold conditions.

Lola wins, both P1 and P2...
The race clearly showed that it needs more than a diesel engine to win, you also need a team and experienced drivers. Next race in Spa the Peugeots will be back, and there the real debates can be opened.

Just checked out the pics of the LMS race at Motorsport.com, I see that Aston have copied the "swan neck" rear wing mount to their cars as well....and in this case it would've been a copy since they didn't have that at the Paul Ricard test...Audi have updated the R10 with that as well...

Note to Aston Martin Racing/Prodrive, the "extensive" modification done to the Lola is purely cosmetic and serves no real purpose...

Didn't Acura buy a Courage chassis and something else and modify them and call them Acuras? What's the big deal with these being called Lolas? Aston Martin appears to have massively changed their looks and did they buy naming rights form Lola?

I think Acura made modifications to the monocoque, making it eligible to be renamed if Courage agreed to it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
