I suggested a complete colour overhaul for the website, apparently the project isn't coming through.

How about using "UCP" as a logo instead of "ultimatecarpage.com"?

    I like that one too.

I think Kitdy has a point. It's not that the existing logo is bad or anything, it's just that some of us might be a bit too used to it. That's the case with me personally at least.

The thing with the motto, personally I can't see the use of it if it isn't used for marketing or something. "UltimateCarPage" to my mind sums it up nicely, which is backed up easily enough if someone spends just a couple of minutes on the site.

As Matra suggested though, new isn't always better.

I used it when I created my "Ultimatewaterpage.com" avatar.

Interestingly it's one of the default fonts (notepad, wordpad) in Windows XP, Vista and now Windows 7, so no, it doesn't come from the early days of the Internet, Kitdy.
I was kidding, but you know, you're right it's not form the early days of the net. It's even older. Wiki:

Lucida (pronounced /ˈluːsɪdə/[1]) is an extended family of related typefaces designed by Charles Bigelow and Kris Holmes in 1985.
EDIT: My point was that it looked like it was form a really old basic computer - what comes to mind is the Word Art available on Office (97?) that I used to use for school projects.

I don't think the current logo looks professional in it's current guise - frankly I think it looks amateurish.

I think it looks absolutely fine.

Unless the founder (Wouter right?) wants to change it, I don't think we have much of a say.

Or unless we create enough of an uproar.

I think the logo is fine, sans the 'Powered by knowledge, driven by passion.' part. The logo in itself is much better than some sites like supercars.net though.

It doesn't really matter what we think if Wouter thinks it's fine and I think he does so this is all trivial.

Yes, the motto font is weak I agree.
