Well, if they want the extra milisecond, why not make it an extra 3 and opt for the ZR1. If they want exclusivity why not lower the vette, give it an iridescent paint job, throw 40" chrome spinners on it, and paint the mona lisa on the hood. Now you've got extra power AND exclusivity. In fact, its so exclusive you can be sure there's only one like it. Now you're one up on the poor prick that's just thrown out his retirement fund as a down payment on a Porsche with a fancier name than its stock counterpart. Given the pathetic performance improvements on that massive price tag, you quite literally are paying for the name change. Sorry, but this car is stupid.

Price = €298,000? Is that really the original price of that?
whit all the "insider-info" you post here, you didn't even read the press release to figure out that's the figure for the kit, the donor car isn't included.

Gemballa's Carrera GT wants to challenge the Veyron for the limited editions available.

because if you are in the market for a Gemballa (or other German-tuned cars), you think this is better than the standard car.
In my book, this ruins both the very car modified, and the model itself.

Just too bad it didn't feel like challenging its performance.
For the money, they should've thrown four turbos on it.

Or you could buy a Mantide.

Ah no, wait. It had to be tasteless.

Sorry for nitpicking here, but I think as the 'Vette and 'Stang are "lower class" than the Porsche it's much easier to swallow. The Porsche is supposed to represent automotive perfection, whereas the other two (the 'Stang especially) are merely a solid platform for you to customize to your own wants and needs.

I guess I'm being overly defensive here because I love the C16.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

Callaways on the other hand, as previously Saleen, makes sense, being a racing team, so it's like Prodrive selling their road going version of the Ferrari 550 GTS, after winning world titles in FIA GT.

So, if i'm not too fond of the the Carrera GT, that means it's more ok?

I agree with the racing link of Callaway and Saleen, it makes more sense. Also there's more to improve in a Mustang or a Corvette than in a Carrera GT.

I think this is a sort of pay-check for Gemballa and the other tuning companies.
They take part in th design of the original cars, and as a result they are allowed to tune them to achieve some additional entries.
It has just gone a bit too far.

Yes, and you can feel free to buy the Gemballer Miraj GT LOLGTR Carben Fibarz WTF h4x Moar Tork Special Limited Ultra-Rare more Carben Fibarz and then some moar Edition.

Like I said, the CGT is essentially a money-no-object car, so everything from the factory is presumably pretty damn close to perfect.
The 'Stang and 'Vette are much cheaper cars, and are designed to be cheap. This means that some corners are cut and the car isn't "all it can be." However, it is intended by their maker that the owner rectifies these problems, and I think the personalization aspect is part of the appeal.
