Early days theories on bike stability.
Big fin at back will act like tail rudder on a plane and keep the biek straight.
So for drag bikes WAS a consideration...

Of course, if you got off line early on then as speed built up it made it harder to bring back into line and as bikes LEAN when they steer it generated lift and yaw which made things WORSE.

As speeds increased - and aero became understood - designers realised you were safer making the bike do as LITTLE aerodynamically as possible so the rider could control it

EDIT: for places lke salt flats it may still make some sense. You've a mile at least to correct any misalignment.

Dammmn, not so sure about fitting that skylight in the stairway now

Daughter heard noise and shouted for me to come.
Bloody seagull has decided it's a great vantage point.
So far it hasn't crapped on it .....

Cat's too bloody scared of the big seagull to scare it off .... so can you send me over the bayonet stabbing gun from other thread ..... the movie-in-my-head of chasing gophers did make me want to do it to this bloody thing

I wonder what the law is against keeping Golden Eagles in my backyard

Scottish seagulls are a different species than the ones we get here in North America. They are larger and have different features.

I remember seeing a particularly large seagull in Scotland when I was walking with family. The seagull was standing on a large concrete block that was part of the wall to the sea. Whenever I approached it to a certain distance,, say 10 metres, he would take off and do a huge big circle until I was 10 meters away in the other direction and then land - his flight was lazy and his wings were long. It was amusing.

Does it make it any less of a seagull that it's in Europe?
