How often do you hit 5,000 RPM - 7,000 RPM, and beyond in your car, daily/routinely? I just wanted to get a rough idea of how the general population drives.

Not very often. I have a V8 and it's an automatic so it stays pretty low.

My car redlines at 5000rpm...

Visca Catalunya!
I redline at 7500rpms, almost never go there... unless I'm on an adrenaline rush or maybe showing the car to a friend. I do hit 5k-6k on a daily basis, is just too much fun.
every time i drive the 911.
never in the triumph (with that much torque what's the point?)

I hit redline (6500rpm) at least once a day getting onto the highway.

When it rains, so I can spin the 5th gear and see 200 km/h on the speedo whilst my real speed is 40 km/h
Minimising losses can maximise net gains
In the family 4wd hardly ever beyond 3000rpm, in the race car between 7500-9200rpm all the time with the new bottom end around 9600rpm

I included, it seems most of us may need to be drained of a little adrenaline. God, how I love to hit 7,000RPMs in 4th and 5th gear. Bless my soul.
If I'm going to work, hell yeah! I'm always late.
if i want to burn all my oil....
i rarely red line. which is like 6,500. i do hit 5k or 5,500 once in a while. typically don't have to though. i have lots of low end torque. i like holding it at 3k to hear my intake howl!

At least 5,000 rpm more often than not (V8 auto)
6,000 revs in 1st gear = 29 mph!
I usually shift out of 1st at about 5000rpm, that's where the road speed is high enough to get into 2nd smoothly (yay for close-ratio gearboxes!), but apart from that I tend not to go much past the five grand mark. Tends to mean I'm going a bit too quick, and that's where it gets up on the cam and wants to, putting it midly, **** off into the distance.
Faster, faster, faster, until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death...
