Racing Box: from victory to hell

    Hi all,
the title could be strong, but if we consider the season of this team, i think it's quite correct. The Team start really well in Catalunya, but starting from Spa the results become quite poors. The drivers have done many mistakes and also the laps-times are not so well.
Also during 1000km of Nurburgring both the cars spent many times in the grass (see photo attached), or worse in the gravel like Biagi during the race.
In particular Thomas Biagi and Andrea Piccini disappoint expectation.

    Fire them all.

Dear Boesel, before to open your mouth you have to know the facts: I was out of track in Nurburgring because a gentleman driver does'nt see me and crasch in to my door.

We also started in Nurburgring in the last place because we had to change the engine not for my fault, or Piccini fault or Team fault...

That's why in Algarve we drop from second to fourth place.

I like to be criticize but when is to build something and not for fun like you did!

not really if you had also been there. Here's a shot of the Racing Box team that took second place in class. I do not fully agree with the thread title though, but it is nice to see that actual racing drivers take the trouble of replying here.

Welcome Thomas, see you at Silverstone.

Racing Box is second and third in the LMP2 championship in their first year with the Lola Judd, winning one race and finishing second in two of the other three. You can believe in what you said but it's not founded in the truth.

Shure Wouter, but you have to think about the expectation of the Team. Particularly looking the results of car n°29. In a season like that, with many economical problems, inscribe 2 Lola-Judd is a really great effort. Have, at one race to the end of the season, the "young car" ahead the "veteran car", I think is not great for the manager, Also if you think about mistakes like at Spa in the formation lap.

Expectation can not only be based on your own cars, but have to take into account the competition. Apparently the Zytek is the best car to have and as soon as a Porsche entered the field, it won. (twice).

Had they not been disqualified at Spa, the team would have finished on the podium at every race. They are doing better than seasoned competitors Speedy-Sebah and RML with similar cars. If you think that is still not enough, you have unreasonably high expectations. Have you asked the quoted team manager about his opinion on the season so far, or are you just guessing?

I understand what you said Wouter,
but I told you the problem is that Rml and Speedy have only one car. Also Rml has Mazda engine. Speedy did great race in Le mans 24h and in 1000km of Spa. Yes, Speedy decided to challenge with other car in P1, but I think is enother discussion.
Hi henk4, I agree with you about the leadership of Porsche and Zytek. Sad see Porsche only 3 times in Le mans official events this year.

So you agree the Ginetta-Zytek is currently the better car? Then Racing Box' second and third in the championship behind the Ginetta-Zytek would be totally appropriate. They won at Barcelona, were beaten by a Porsche and Speedy Lola at Spa and then beaten twice by the Ginetta-Zytek. So only once this Le Mans Series season did another car than the Porsche and Zytek finish ahead of a Racing Box Lola ...

RML has only one professional driver.
Should Comcast, which is buying NBC, have more motorsports coverage on VERSUS and now NBC? Does North America need a racing tv channel? Find the answer to that exact question on facebook.
